about-gaia-gallery

About

The Gaia Gallery is the UK's first carbon neutral, touring sustainability boat venue. Built by canal-side communities through a series of natural building and renewable technology courses. This unique, award-winning space showcases permaculture design and celebrates the canals that act as natural corridors in the city.

Continuous Cruisers

We continuously cruise the canal network, forging links with communities across the capital.

Repurposing & Reclaiming

From sculting interiors from London clay excavated in the Crossrail project, to cladding with waste pallet wood.

Innovation

We showcase a range of cutting-edge, fossil-fuel free energy solutions as a carbon neutral venue.

Our Service

Sustainability Courses

Working with the CHUG basin in Haggerston to deliver courses for boaters and the general public, focusing on building using natural/reclaimed materials as well as renewable technology solutions.

Canal-side Regeneration

With Cob in the Community, we support cob oven builds across the capital, transforming canal-side community spaces. We also deliver Thames21 accredited clean up and planting events.

For Hire

Host an event or party in our unique canal boat. We can customise the boat to your needs and moor up at multiple locations across London. Come aboard!

Cruising

Escape the city and float free on the canals of London. Our vegetable oil fueled engine powers stunning trips through the London Zoo, Camden, Broadway Market, Victoria Park and the Olympic Park.

Supporting your Event

We have struck up great relationships with canal-side venues, including bars, restaurants and galleries. Fancy the added appeal of featuring a canal boat at your event? Give us a call!

Permaculture Showcase

Permaculture is nature-inspired design. The permaculture community in London is growing and influencing business, co-operative and local organisations. We act as a hub promoting permaculture to combat climate change.

Care

We love our canals and are committed to clean-ups, planting and celebrating beside them.

Collaborate

We believe the canals can form a network of collaborators dedicated to making London a fun, green and inclusive place to live.
